really cool piece, scale is really good and so is the lighting, however the drake feels really stiff to me, and it would probably look cooler if the chest was puffed out more and back bent more to give it a nice gesture line, although the body and anatomy are done well and grounded to realism nicely. maybe splash some more contrast on the wings and it'd be even more of a winner in my book.

fuck its omegablack month again isnt it

if this style ain't inspired by genndy tartakovsky i dont know what it's inspired by, really good work. the ground could use some sort of looping texture tho.

Zoukeau responds:

Hehe, thank you :j I've decided with this kind of style that I wanted to avoid using AE corner pin effects to simulate perspective. That being said, you are right that the ground is pretty barren.

everything in this piece is so extremely weirdly done and arranged. the character and it's shape is bizzare as fuck and the "moon" being an eyeball is a nice touch. love the colours too. im sorry if this was actually meant to make sense but i love this because it completely doesn't to me.

your textures shading and colours are really goddamn good, if anything lets this piece down its the character in the middle with the weird-ish anatomy (e.g, really short left arm). but the time you put in shows. (mountains feel a tad bit close too :p)

epic, bird shit is a nice touch.

ayy you're back dude, hope you're doing well. I loved your stuff back then.

this is pretty damn great, my only criticism would be that some small areas lack depth due to the shading not being "sharp" enough to make some parts clearly distinguishable from eachother, the rest is way too nitpicky to even mention so you did great.

OmegaBlack1631 responds:

depends on what parts, I was using this as a study of classical art and in many cases a lot of form blends together

deserves frontpage, but i think you forgot to work on that hand on the bottom right.

FraserMcNiven responds:

Thanks! It's a few years old and I missed it at the time. I've never felt inclined to fix it up since.

colours and composition on point, but the eye being to only thing with proper texture makes it stand out slightly too much. if you try stuff out i'd recommend going the full mile and throwing a few hours extra into it cus you never know.

cool shit n' stuff
